Mini car glass necklace - little round
This sculture has either sold, or is out on loan for an exhibition. If you would like to inquire on the status of this piece, or see if something similar could be made for you, please feel free to contact me.
This small necklace is made of reclaimed broken glass upcycled from car break-ins in Cleveland, Ohio. Deanna Dionne goes around Cleveland looking for glass left on the curb from car break-ins, sweeps it up, and creates jewelry.
This listing is for the smallest pendant size, just a little smaller than a dime, hanging on a 18" stainless steel chain, in a general round shape. Two examples are shown for the general look of the piece, but every one is one-of-a-kind due to the random nature of the broken glass.
After a car is broken into, a pile of glass is left on the curb. Deanna Dionne sweeps up this glass and reclaims it. Various processes are applied to make it into wearable art.
Auto glass is naturally aqua tinted. Most pieces are kept transparent, they will appear differently on various skintones and clothing. With the MIRROR collection I've applied a mirrored backing which reflects back the aqua tint. Black glass is from a tinted rear window.
